Video Ad for Curious Elixirs

Olds was honored to create this visual campaign for Curious Elixirs, a brand that is truly leading the way in the healthy alcohol alternative space with their sophisticated, booze-free cocktails. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with a brand whose commitment to wellness and high-end branding aligns so perfectly with our own creative standards. The project was born from a concept to physically "punch through" the old and ordinary to reveal the vibrant world of Curious No. 0. We chose to build this world practically, constructing a custom wall and a hand-drawn, mixed-media art piece rather than relying on AI or digital environments. By prioritizing tangible set design over AI or digital overlays, we captured an authentic energy that resonated deeply with the community; the ad has since surpassed 1 million views on Instagram.

Goals

The strategic objective for this film was to solve the challenge of today’s short attention spans by engineering a high-retention "hook" optimized for social discovery. We specifically designed the video to trigger an immediate psychological response within the first three seconds, using the high-impact, physical destruction of the frame to stop the scroll and lead the viewer directly into the action. Our goal was to maximize average watch time by maintaining a rhythmic, fast-paced progression that transitions the viewer from a static studio setting to a sun-drenched beach via a seamless DaVinci Resolve VFX sequence. By prioritizing a grounded, practical set build over digital overlays, we aimed to create an authentic sensory experience that felt real to the viewer, ultimately converting fleeting interest into deep brand engagement and viral performance.
