Our founder, Kevin Olds, was honored to serve as Director of Photography for stills and motion on this Bosch Power Tools production with the legendary Lyon Studios. Since opening in Newport Beach in 1975 as the area’s first multi-track recording studio, Lyon has grown into one of Orange County’s premier audio, video, and marketing production companies, creating award-winning content for major brands from its bayside facility.
Working alongside Lyon’s seasoned producers, directors, art department and entire crew, Kevin helped bring a series of fully built “worlds” to life on their stages, each designed to showcase Bosch’s industry-leading tools in real working environments. From the set builds to the lighting to the camera movement, every decision was focused on capturing the precision, power, and durability that professionals expect from Bosch.
The experience of collaborating with a team built on decades of experience was a genuine career highlight. From the wardrobe room to the studio floor, Lyon’s crew brought steady, quiet confidence to every moment of the shoot, and Olds' role was to match that level of craft with thoughtful cinematography and carefully lit stills.
The goal of this production was to create high-end photo and video content for Bosch Power Tools that felt as robust and professional as the tools themselves. By filming across multiple custom sets built by Lyon’s in-house art team, we were able to highlight different use-cases and environments while keeping the visual language cohesive and on brand. Each setup was crafted to balance bold, dimensional lighting with clear product visibility so the tools always stayed front and center.
For Olds, it was a chance to plug into Lyon’s long-standing legacy in Orange County production and contribute our eye for detail behind the camera. The result is a suite of visuals that gives Bosch and Lyon flexible assets for campaigns, web, and social, while also representing the kind of collaborative, best-in-class work we are proud to stand behind.
